Resumos Cadastrados

A cultura é
personagens.

Resumo Inglês:

The present work has as general objective to carry out a Freudian analysis of the
character Gabriela of the novel of Jorge Amado - "Gabriela, clove and cinnamon", and as
specific objectives: to briefly describe the story of Gabriela; to relate the characteristics of
Gabriela with the Freudian theories; and to discuss the conflict between the impulses of
nature and the regulation of culture in Gabriela from Freud's "Evil Being in Civilization". It is
an exploratory research using the bibliographic method. Culture is responsible for producing a
malaise in people, because there is an insurmountable antagonism between what the drive
demands of the human being and what civilization proposes. Gabriela is an erotic object that
arouses the desire of men, however she is a desiring being who clings to Eros and is able to
exchange security for a moment of pleasure. She is a free being, owner of herself and always
ready to get what she wants. The novel is a relevant way of studying the works of Freud.
Psychoanalysis is very representative of Gabriela and the other characters.
