Our goal is to show the possible correlations between the instance of production and the national conscience, always in function of the reception instance. The emphasis will be given to a sort of conscience of the country: the euphoric or apologetic vision of the national reality, that is, the high standard and praised vision of our human natural reality. The euphoric, tremendous or utopian vision of the national reality, produced by the dominant social groups in power, will be dealt considering its process formation and development, like in some of its signifi cant traces. Its manifestation will be illustrated with fi ction and non- fi ction texts. The choice of two different types of texts estimate the agreement on a wide conception of literature, which joins together any type of text and the distinct media that give them support, as the book, the radio, the television and the record.
