UMA ANÁLISE DO CONTO “A MORTE AMOROSA” DE THÉOPHILE GAUTIER À LUZ DAS TEORIAS DO FANTÁSTICO

Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar o conto “A morte amorosa” (2004), à luz das teorias do fantástico, evidenciando como os acontecimentos se entrelaçam, permitindo que se possa classifica-lo como uma narrativa que pertence ao gênero fantástico. Dessa maneira, observaremos as temáticas que se configuram no conto tais como a presença de mortos vivos, a existência do duplo no personagem narrador e a existência de eventos temporais como a noite e a escuridão que intensificam e favorecem a eclosão do fantástico no enredo. Para embasar nossas análises, utilizaremos os estudos de Todorov (2003), Ceserani (2006), Freud (2006), Silva (2014), Rodrigues (1988), Baltor (2007), Calvino (2004), Bottura (2011), Fratucci (2015). Além da hesitação preconizada por Todorov, abordaremos os eventos fantásticos seguindo a concepção de Ceserani, como modalidade, como conjunto não concluído e visto em movimento, não completamente fechado ou delimitado e, por isso mesmo, oferecendo mais possibilidades para a análise e interpretação das narrativas que se enquadram no gênero fantástico.

This article aims to analyze the tale "A morte amorosa" (2004), in the light of fantastic theories, evincing how events interlace, allowing it to be classified as a narrative that belongs to the fantastic genre. In this way, we will observe the themes that are configured in the short story such as the presence of living dead, the existence of the double in the character narrator and the existence of temporal events such as night and darkness that intensify and promote the outbreak of the fantastic in the plot. In order to base our analysis, we will use the studies by Todorov (2003), Freud (2006), Silva (2014), Rodrigues (1988), Baltor (2007), Calvino (2015), Bottura (2011), Fratucci (2015). In addition to the hesitation advocated by Todorov, we will approach the fantastic events following Ceserani’s conception as a modality, as an event not completed and seen in movement, not completely closed or delimited and, therefore, offering more possibilities for the analysis and interpretation of the narratives which fall into the fantastic genre
