Este artigo tem como propósito expor e analisar algumas reflexões de Plínio Marcos sobre a cultura brasileira, em especial sobre o seu ofício central, o teatro. Ancorado na proposta de Bentley (1987) para quem o dramaturgo encena sua própria postura intelectual, este trabalho conclui que a passagem de Plínio Marcos pela cena cultural brasileira renovou a forma de ver o status concedido ao teatro no bojo das práticas culturais brasileiras, pois este pensador se serviu dos meios midiáticos disponíveis para tentar reposicionar sua arte a partir de um viés contestatório sobre visões sociais e políticas que intentavam homogeneizar o teatro e a nacionais.

This article aims to expose and analyze some reflections of Plínio Marcos about Brazilian culture, particularly on their central office, theater. Anchored in the proposed Bentley (1987) for whom the playwright stages his own intellectual position, this paper concludes that the passage of Plínio Marcos the Brazilian cultural scene renewed way of viewing the status granted to the theater in the wake of Brazilian cultural practices, as this thinker has used the media means available to try to reposition their art from a contestatory bias on social and political views that they thought to homogenize the theater and national.
