A busca pelo desenvolvimento se apresenta como um tema de extrema importância no contexto econômico e social brasileiro. Neste cenário, ações ou estratégias adotadas em arranjos produtivos locais têm contribuído para fortalecimento de regiões, especialmente em atividades como a cafeicultura. Investigando as estratégias que contribuíram para o desenvolvimento da região cerrado mineiro, o presente estudo tem como objetivo principal, construir e avaliar o conceito teórico de “convergência estratégica”, identificando as dimensões e caminhos estratégicos trilhados pelo grupo investigado. A convergência estratégica presente na estrutura cafeeira da região do Cerrado e na indicação geográfica do café cerrado, demonstra que uma região pode se desenvolver mediante a inovação, aprendizado e trabalho coletivo.

The search for development presents itself as a topic of extreme importance in the Brazilian economic and social context. In this scenario, actions or strategies adopted in local productive arrangements have contributed to the strengthening of regions, especially in activities such as coffee cultivation. Investigating the strategies that contributed to the development of the cerrado region of Minas Gerais, the main objective of this study is to construct and evaluate the theoretical concept of "strategic convergence", identifying the dimensions and strategic paths pursued by the investigated group. The strategic convergence present in the coffee structure of the Cerrado region and in the geographical indication of cerrado coffee demonstrates that a region can develop through innovation, learning and collective work.
