Este artigo historia a presença das
ferrovias em Sergipe, desde as
origens até o final do século XX.
Destaca a importância históricocultural
do patrimônio ferroviário
sergipano. Analisa a infra-estrutura
e as condições de serviço. Apresenta
os trechos ferroviários, as
principais estações e sua relevância
sócio-econômica. Por fim, reclama a
revitalização do complexo ferroviário
como um direito da população.

This article tells the presence of the
railways in Sergipe, since the origin
into the end of the 20th century. Emphasizes
the historical and cultural
importance of the railways heritage in
Sergipe. Analises the infra-structure of
train tracks and of the services. Shows
the railways steps, the main train stations
and their social and economic
relevance. Finally, it complains about
the revitalization of railway complex
as people rights.
