Este estudo objetivou o levantamento de publicações nacionais sobre o fenômeno porta-giratória (Revolving door), envolvendo reinternações de usuários com sofrimento mental em hospitais psiquiátricos, procurando identificar as características desse fenômeno, no contexto das práticas em saúde mental. Foi realizado um levantamento de artigos publicados dos últimos 21 anos, nos Bancos de Dados LILACS; MEDLINE e SciELO que fazem parte da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Os dados foram categorizados destacando alguns dos principais tópicos dessa prática, como: a ocorrência do fenômeno porta-giratória-Revolving door em nosso país; o perfil dos usuários com sofrimento mental que fizeram uso dessa prática; os entraves que sustentam esse fenômeno, bem como os desafios e as estratégias para a superação desse círculo internação-alta-internação. Os dados apontaram a necessidade de uma política institucional clara e sistemática para a realização das altas assistidas nos serviços de saúde mental, assim como o desafio da construção coletiva de uma rede de cuidado em saúde, com práticas humanizadas, interdisciplinares, longitudinais, realizadas na comunidade de forma integral, ética e cidadã.

This study aimed to raising national publications about the phenomenon revolving holder (Revolving door), involving reinternações of people with mental distress in psychiatric hospitals, seeking to identify the characteristics of this phenomenon in the context of mental health practices. We conducted a survey of articles published in the last 15 years, in the databases LILACS; MEDLINE and SciELO are part of the Virtual Health Library. The data were categorized by highlighting some of the main topics of this practice as: the occurrence of the phenomenon revolving holder-Revolving door in our country; the profile of people with mental distress which made use of this practice; the barriers that sustain this phenomenon, as well as the challenges and strategies for overcoming that circle high hospitalization hospitalization. The data showed the need for a clear and systematic institutional policy for the achievement of the high us-assisted mental health services, as well as the challenge of the collective construction of a network of health care, with Humanized, interdisciplinary practices, carried out on longitudinal community, ethics and citizen.
