Reflexões sobre gestão em segurança pública apontam para a superação dos modelos tradicionais, pautados em ações desarticuladas e fragmentadas, com vistas à formulação de novos modelos de gestão, nos quais o Estado, juntamente com a comunidade e a sociedade civil organizada, busca a contenção da criminalidade violenta pela adoção articulada de medidas repressivas e preventivas. Sendo assim, o presente trabalho objetiva refletir sobre os novos modelos de gestão em segurança pública, tendo por referência análise do Programa Controle de Homicídios Fica Vivo, uma política pública adotada pelo Estado de Minas Gerais. Para tanto, empregou-se a pesquisa analítico-descritiva a partir de um estudo sistemático da teoria contemporânea, bem como de análise de registros obtidos junto aos Núcleos de Referência do programa que remontam a história de sua implantação e seu atual funcionamento, em especial na região do Grande Santos Reis, em Montes Claros (MG), local utilizado para a realização de um estudo de caso.

The reflections about public safety manegement point out for the over come of traditional models, mesured in desarticulated and fragmented actions, aiming at the formulation of new management models, that the State in union with the community and the organized civil society, look for the containment of the violent criminality throgh the articulated adoption of preventive and repressive measures. At this way, the present work aims to reflect the new models of public safety manegement,having as its reference the Stay Alive Control of Murders Program's analysis a public policy adopted by the State of Minas Gerais. Because of this, an analytical descriptive research was made from a sistematic study about the contemporary theory, and the analysis of registration gotten from the Program References' Nucleus that dates back its implatation's history and its present operation, on special at the region of the Grande Santos Reis, in Montes Claros (MG), where a study os case was carried out.
