O artigo interroga o que há de novo nas Ocupações Urbanas que se constituíram nas duas últimas décadas em Belo Horizonte e eventualmente na região metropolitana (RMBH). Argumenta-se que as Ocupações Urbanas configuram novos atores coletivos cujo mote mais amplo de luta por moradia é pelo controle sobre melhores condições para o exercício da vida cotidiana. A partir da inter-relação com estratégias e atores precedentes é possível identificar as Ocupações Urbanas como novos atores coletivos porque operam
uma radicalização do próprio cotidiano urbano da coletividade, destacando sua relação com outros atores sociais, apoiadores ou rivais do passado ou do presente. O trabalho ancora-se em contribuições na vertente dos novos movimentos sociais, fundamentalmente em Alberto Melucci (1980; 1989; 1996; 2003) para apreender os processos de constituição de atores coletivos contemporâneos, de suas identidades e formas de ação. A metodologia apoia-se fundamentalmente em revisão bibliográfica por conveniência e levantamentos documentais.
This article examines what is new in the Urban Occupations that have been formed in the last two decades in Belo Horizonte and, eventually, in the metropolitan region (RMBH). It argues that Urban Occupations constitute new collective actors whose broader struggle for housing is for control over better conditions for the exercise of daily life. Based on the interrelation with previous strategies and actors, it is possible to identify Urban Occupations as new collective actors because they operate
a radicalization of the urban daily life of the collectivity itself, highlighting its relationship with other social actors, supporters or rivals from the past or present. The work is anchored in contributions from the perspective of new social movements, fundamentally in Alberto Melucci (1980; 1989; 1996; 2003) to understand the processes of constitution of contemporary collective actors, their identities, and forms of action. The methodology is fundamentally based on bibliographic review for convenience and documentary research.
