A infraestrutura crítica de comunicação brasileira possui um sistema de cabos submarinos de conectividade que merece especial atenção no que tange à segurança marítima, pois eles compõem um conjunto ameaçado do ponto de vista estratégico. Sua inoperância após um ataque inviabilizaria o modo de vida moderno, trazendo consequências econômicas, sociais e dificultando a condução de uma eventual guerra. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar os cabos submarinos de conectividade com o olhar da segurança marítima em busca de riscos e ameaças ao Estado Brasileiro. A análise será feita por meio de uma revisão da literatura sobre cabos submarinos e estudo de caso dos cabos submarinos responsáveis pelas comunicações no Brasil. O mapeamento dos cabos submarinos por cidades brasileiras realizado neste estudo, e também a análise de sua concentração por Distritos Navais, detectou a maior concentração de cabos conectados na área do 3º Distrito Naval. Essa informação pode amparar uma futura alocação de mais navios pela Marinha do Brasil, ratifica-se ainda a urgência na implementação do Sistema de Gerenciamento da Amazônia Azul.

The critical infrastructure of Brazilian communication has a system of undersea connectivity cables that deserves special attention with regard to maritime security,for being part of a group that is threatened from a strategic point of view. Its inoperability after an attack could make the modern way of life unfeasible, bringing economic and social consequences and making it difficult to conduct an eventual war. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the submarine connectivity cables from the perspective of Maritime Security in search of risks and threats to the Brazilian State. The analyses will be conducted through a review of the literature on submarine cables and a study case of the submarine cables responsible for communications in Brazil. The mapping of submarine cables by Brazilian cities carried out in this study, and also the analysis of their concentration by Naval Districts, detected the highest concentration of cables connected in the area of the 3rd Naval District. This information may support a future allocation of more ships by the Brazilian Navy, the urgency in implementing the Blue Amazon Management System is also ratified.
