O PENSAMENTO POLÍTICO DE DANTE ALIGHIERI: UM DIÁLOGO COM A TRADIÇÃO TOMISTA

Resumo Português:

A partir do tratado de filosofia política intitulado Monarquia busca-se investigar
o pensamento do poeta florentino Dante Alighieri e a influência da filosofia de
Santo Tomás de Aquino em sua obra. A herança tomista teria sido significativa
para a construção do modelo imperial apresentado no tratado, onde o
reconhecimento de uma função específica para o governante temporal foi
estabelecida a partir de uma distinção entre o fim corruptível do corpo e o fim
incorruptível da alma humana. Procura-se observar que a teologia do santo
possibilitou a construção na Monarquia de um lugar de realização do intelecto
possível no mundo. Apesar da influência, Dante defendeu que a autoridade
temporal seria uma atribuição do imperador e, deste modo, afastou-se do
tomismo que jamais questionou a soberania do Papa acima de todos os
poderes.

From the treatise on political philosophy entitled Monarchy seeks to investigate
the thought of the Florentine poet Dante Alighieri and the influence of the
philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas in his work. The Thomist heritage would
have been significant for the construction of the imperial model presented in
the treaty, where the recognition of a specific function for the temporal ruler
was established from a distinction between the corruptible end of the body and
the incorruptible end of the human soul. One aims to observed that the theology
of holy contributed to the construction of a Monarchy of a place of realization
of the achievable intellect in the world. Despite the influence, Dante argued
that the temporal authority would be an attribution of the Emperor and thus
moved away from the Thomism which never questioned the sovereignty of the
Pope over all powers.
