Nesta pesquisa, pretendemos fazer uma leitura d’O conto da Prioresa a partir do conceito de moldura de Auerbach, enquanto elemento constitutivo de sentido do texto ao qual se refere. Este conto faz parte da obra Os Contos de Cantuária, de Geoffrey Chaucer, escrito em 1386. Assim, inicialmente, tecemos considerações relativas ao período em que se dá a enunciação: a Idade Média, bem como observamos algumas características gerais da obra de Chaucer. Para tal, enquanto referencial teórico, recorremos aos estudos de Auerbach (2013), Medeiros (2011) e Vizioli (1991).

In this research we intend to analyze The Prioress’s tale from the concept of frame written by Auerbach, as a constitutive element of meaning to the text of which it refers. This tale is part of The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1386. Firstly, we approach some general considerations about the characteristics of the period of enunciation: Middle age, as well as some general characteristics in Chaucer’s work. As a theoretical reference, we use the studies of Auerbach (2013), Medeiros (2011) and Vizioli (1991).
