METÁFORAS NO DISCURSO DOS MORTOS: O CASO DO VALE DO AMANHECER

A história nos conta que desde os tempos do Egito Antigo, os homens possuem um apetite singular em se relacionar com o além-túmulo. Defronte a este fato instigante, nos interessamos a investigar neste trabalho se a linguagem figurada se elenca como um portal que conecta linguisticamente o mundo dos vivos com o mundo dos mortos. Utilizamos para tanto os aportes teórico-metodológicos da Linguística Cognitiva e a sua Teoria da Metáfora Conceptual para analisar duas mensagens de entidades espirituais canalizadas por médiuns que para a crença da doutrina espiritualista brasileira Vale do Amanhecer, podem recebê-las. Feito isso chegamos as seguintes conclusões: 1) A metáfora elenca-se como uma ponte que possibilita de maneira singular e fluída interlocuções entre humanos e espíritos; 2) Esse fato se dá porque as entidades incorporadas nos sujeitos que utilizam-se para se fazerem presentes aproveitam-se de todo o conteúdo conceptual e sociocultural apreendido experiencialmente por estes instrumentos, costurando por meio destes tecidos linguísticos-discursivos textualmente coesivos e coerentes; 3) Ao ouvirem as mensagens figurativamente estruturadas, os ouvintes do além conseguem tanto traçar novas formas de pensamento quanto novos moldes de ordenamentos sociais.

History tells us that since the times of Ancient Egypt, men have had a singular appetite in relating to the afterlife. Facing this instigating fact, we are interested in investigating in this paper whether the figurative language is a portal that linguistically connects the world of the living with the world of the dead. To do so, we used the theoretical and methodological contributions of Cognitive Linguistics and its Conceptual Metaphor Theory to analyze two messages from spiritual entities channeled by mediums who, according to the belief of the Brazilian spiritualist doctrine Vale do Amanhecer, can embody them. Having done this, we reached the following conclusions: 1) The metaphor behaves as a bridge that enables singular and fluid interlocutions between humans and spirits; 2) This fact occurs because the entities embodied by the subjects take advantage of all the conceptual and sociocultural content experientially learned by these instruments, sewing through these linguistic-discursive fabrics textually cohesive and coherent; 3) By listening to the figuratively structured messages, the listeners in the afterlifeare able both to trace new ways of thinking and new patterns of social orderings.
