A MÍSTICA DO RACISMO: NARRATIVAS DE ESTUDANTES NEGRAS/OS UNIVERSITÁRIOS SOBRE RACISMO NA EDUCAÇÃO FORMAL

Atualmente, há uma dinamização das discussões referentes à questão étnico-racial no Brasil,
especialmente no que diz respeito à população negra. E apesar desses debates existirem há
tempos, estabelecidos principalmente pelos movimentos sociais negros e por intelectuais, só
agora o ideário que se contrapõe a uma representação de Brasil como paraíso racial consegue
maior visibilidade. Várias pesquisas realizadas por órgãos institucionais demonstram a
desigualdade gritante entre negras/os e brancas/os. Na educação essas desigualdades se
constituem de forma mais evidente, pois nos lugares de educação formal o racismo atua
intensamente influenciando na trajetória de estudantes negras/os, sobremaneira entre
estudantes negras. Assim, frente às pesquisas quantitativas, buscamos realizar uma análise
qualitativa acerca da trajetória socioespacial de estudantes negras da Universidade Federal de
Goiás (UFG). Destacamos os lugares de educação formal pelos quais estas perpassaram a fim
de evidenciar, com maior profundidade, as relações e as vivências que estas mulheres
estabeleceram nesses lugares. Tendo em vista que as estatísticas muitas das vezes invizibilizam
o vivido, priorizamos os relatos e narrativas das estudantes negras. As falas das mesmas, de
alguma forma, evidenciam a dimensão da atuação do racismo nos locais de educação formal ao
serem citados termos como: “terror”, “medo”, “sofrimento”, “desânimo”, “hostilidade” etc.
Nessas circunstâncias podemos entender, ao menos em partes, o que nos dizem os perversos
números das estatísticas.

Currently there are discussions regarding the promotion of ethnic-racial issue in Brazil related
to the black population. Although these debates has been made long time, established mainly
by black social movements and intellectuals, only now the ideology which is opposed to a
representation of Brazil as a racial paradise gets more visibility. Several researchs conducted
by institutional organizations demonstrated the inequality between blacks and whites.
Inequalities in education are more evident, because in the places of formal education the racism
acts intensively influencing the trajectory of black students, overwhelmingly among black
women students. Thus, compared to quantitative research, we made a qualitative analysis about
the social-spatial trajectory of black students at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). We
point out the places of education to show, in greater depth, the relationships and experiences
that students have established in these places. In view that statistics data often invisibilized the
lived, we prioritize the stories and narratives of black students. The students' narratives,
somehow, show the scale of the operation of racism in places of formal education. They quoteterms as: "terror", "fear”, "suffering", “discouragement” and "hostility". In these circumstances
we can understand, at least in part, what the statistical figures shows us.
