Este artigo propõe uma leitura da obra João Vêncio: os seus amores, do escritor angolano Luandino Vieira. Busca-se compreender a metáfora do "colar de missangas" como representativa da construção do discurso e da tessitura de memórias da personagem João Vêncio. Para tanto, propõe-se uma reflexão sobre a modalidade discursiva inovadora sugerida pelo autor nesse romance, que subverte a língua portuguesa padrão, privilegiando a oralidade, os provérbios e outros aspectos que aproximam tais memórias ficcionais do texto poético.

This paper proposes a reading of the book “João Vêncio: os seus amores”, by the Angolan writer Luandino Vieira. It seeks to understand the metaphor of the "colar de missangas" as representative of the construction of the discourse and the tessitura of memories of the character João Vêncio. For that, a reflection on the innovative discursive modality suggested by the author in this novel is proposed, which subverts the Portuguese standard language, favoring orality, proverbs and other aspects that bring such fictional memories closer to the poetic text.
