A IRONIA CONTESTADORA DE BERNARDO SANTARENO EM O PECADO DE JOÃO AGONIA

Resumo Português:

Objetiva-se, neste trabalho, analisar o texto dramático O pecado de João Agonia, do
dramaturgo português Bernardo Santareno, com o intuito de se verificar como a ironia se manifesta
através do título do texto, do nome da personagem principal e da interdiscursividade presente no
corpus. Pelo fato de a ironia ser uma estratégia discursiva que não pode ser compreendida
separadamente de sua corporificação em contexto, a abordagem da obra santareniana estará calcada na
dialética texto/contexto, levando-se em conta o locus histórico-cultural em que foi produzida
(COUTINHO, 2006). Acredita-se, aqui, que é pela ironia que Bernardo Santareno busca despertar o
espírito crítico do leitor/espectador, obrigando-o a reagir, a procurar por si a verdade, visto que seus
textos não dão respostas, mas, incansavelmente, nos fazem perguntas.

Resumo Inglês:

Objective, in this work, to analyze the dramatic text O pecado de João Agonia, of the
portuguese playwright Bernardo Santareno, with the purpose of identifying as irony manifested by the
title of the text, the main character's name and interdiscursivity present in the corpus. Because irony is
a discursive strategy that can’t be understood separately from its embodiment in context, the approach
of the santareniana work is grounded in the dialectic text /context, taking into account the historical
and cultural locus in which it was produced. It is believed, here, that is by the irony that Bernardo
Santareno quest to awaken the critical mind of the reader /viewer, forcing him to react, to seek the
truth for themselves, since their texts do not give answers, but relentlessly, in ask questions
