O presente artigo parte do pressuposto de que o crescimento urbano ocorrido nas últimas décadas na cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes, onde se localiza a Comunidade da Margem da Linha, é principalmente o resultado dos investimentos feitos ao longo do tempo para atender aos interesses dos diferentes atores sociais, como as ações dos grandes investidores e do poder público municipal. O objetivo do artigo foi o de identificar os principais processos socioespaciais que contribuem para a rápida transformação da região, demonstrando como essas ações são determinantes para o futuro da comunidade através da dinâmica espacial ali presente. Foram utilizados diversos procedimentos metodológicos para compreender o processo de crescimento sucedido no decorrer dos anos, como a literatura relacionada ao tema, pesquisas de campo, análise das leis municipais e federais, assim como observações feitas das mudanças ocorridas na região através de imagens de satélite. Por meio das análises realizadas observou-se os investimentos feitos e, consequentemente, a valorização da área, o que trouxe a realidade da remoção da comunidade, diante dos fatos encontrados o artigo tem como objetivo ser mais um instrumento de luta para os moradoresque se recusam a deixar a comunidade. Desse modo, foi possível verificar que a periferia se torna cada vez mais distante do centro, como no caso da comunidade em questão, e que a partir da construção de moradias pelo programa municipal de habitação popular, o Morar Feliz, proporciona uma reconfiguração do espaço periférico da cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes, marcado pela dualidade centro-periferia e pelas desigualdades socioespaciais.

This article assumes that urban growth in recent decades in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, where is the community Line Bank, is primarily the result of investments made over time to meet the interests of different actors social, as the actions of large investors and the municipal government. The objective of this article was identify the main socio-spatial processes that contribute to the rapid transformation of the region, highlighting how these actions are essential to the future of the community through the spatial dynamics present there. Different methods were used to understand the growth process successful over the years, as the literature related to the subject, field research, analysis of municipal and federal laws, as well as observations of changes in the region through satellite images. Through analyzes we observed the investments and consequently the value of the area, which brought the reality of the removal from the community, on the facts found the article aims to be an instrument of struggle for the residents who refuse to let the community. Thus, it was possible to verify that the periphery becomes increasingly distant from the center, as in the case of the community in question, and from the construction of houses by the municipal program of popular housing,Live Happy, provides a reconfiguration of space peripheral of the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, marked by center-periphery duality and the socio-spatial inequalities.
