Este artigo apresenta um recorte da dissertação de mestrado já concluída no ano de 2009, desenvolvida no Programa de Pós-graduação da Universidade Federal do Paraná intitulada: ―A trajetória escolar de alunos surdos e a sua relação com a inclusão no ensino superior‖. Foram realizadas nove entrevistas semiestruturadas com sujeitos surdos que frequentavam no momento da pesquisa do mestrado as universidades de Curitiba no ano de 2007. Neste texto analisamos e discutimos os movimentos de integração e de inclusão escolar das pessoas com necessidades educacionais especiais no contexto mundial e nacional e analisamos pelo viés das políticas públicas a inclusão de alunos surdos no ensino superior. Entendemos que, estudos relacionados a esse alunado, podem contribuir para a discussão de políticas inclusivas no ensino superior no contexto educacional brasileiro.

Resumo Inglês:

This article presents a part of the Master‘s thesis completed in 2009, developed in the Post Graduate Program of the Federal University of Parana, entitled: "The school history of deaf students and its relation to their inclusion in higher education." Nine semi-structured interviews were performed with deaf individuals who attended universities in Curitiba in 2007 when the Master‘s research was conducted. In this paper we analyze and discuss the movements of integration and educational inclusion of people with special educational needs in the national and global context and analyze from the viewpoint of public policies, the inclusion of deaf students in higher education. We believe that studies related to these students can contribute to the discussion of inclusive policies in higher education in the Brazilian educational context.
