O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a historiografia sobre a Guerra do Paraguai analisada por dois autores, León Pomer e Ricardo Salles. Pretendemos, de forma sucinta, expor as teses dos respectivos autores sobre a Guerra do Paraguai e, no âmbito da historiografia, mostrar como a guerra foi interpretada pelo saber histórico em diferentes períodos. Num primeiro momento, estaremos expondo a leitura de León Pomer sobre guerra e, posteriormente, mostraremos a visão de Ricardo Salles sobre a mesma. Assim, temos como objetivo principal mostrar, não somente diferentes visões sobre o conflito, mas, antes de tudo, entender a Guerra do Paraguai, em suas vicissitudes, de forma dialética e concreta.

Resumo Inglês:

This paper aims to examine the historiography of the war in Paraguay reviewed by
two authors, and Leon Pomer Ricardo Salles. We intend briefly to state the thesis of the
authors about the War in Paraguay and in the context of historiography, showing how the war
was interpreted by historical knowledge in different periods. At first, we are exposing León
Pomer reading about war and then show the vision of Ricardo Salles on it. Thus, our main
goal to show not only different views on the conflict, but, above all, understand the War of
Paraguay in their stories, in a dialectical way and material.
