A discursive theory has been born, in years 60, in a context of effusion - crisis and challenges - of the historical materialism inherits as the one of the marks most defi ning its continuous critical-social position. However, when perceiving the dialectic progression of the social theories, exactly having in view of the necessary contradiction between the real of history - the impossible one to be said - and its clarifying, theoretical models of the discourse must be in constant dialogue with social theoreticians more contemporaries. The objective of this article is exactly to undertake a dialogue between Discourse Analysis and one of the central theses of Axel Honneth’s thought, one of the continuators of German tradition of the Critical Theory: the confl ict and the fi ght for recognition as motor of history.
