Este relatório tem o intuito de apresentar as ações realizadas no Projeto de Extensão - Pinturas do Acervo do Museu de Arte Leopoldo Gotuzzo: Documentação, Restauração e Exposição da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, uma proposta interdisciplinar exemplar da indissociabilidade entre ensino, extensão e pesquisa. A identidade do Museu de Arte Leopoldo Gotuzzo do Centro de Artes da UFPel é fortemente marcada pela produção do seu patrono. Neste projeto foram selecionadas 14 pinturas pertencentes ao acervo do museu, 12 delas de autoria do artista pelotense Leopoldo Gotuzzo e duas de outros artistas, todas doadas pelo patrono para formação do museu em sua carta testamento datada de 1983. Justifica-se o trabalho pela importância deste patrimônio pertencente à UFPel e pela importância do artista Leopoldo Gotuzzo para a cidade de Pelotas e para as artes plásticas do Rio Grande do Sul. Teve-se como objetivo geral a restauração destas obras que estavam em estado precário de conservação e por este motivo muitas nunca haviam sido expostas no museu. O minucioso processo de restauração incluiu: documentação fotográfica, realização de exames, processo de intervenção nas obras. Por fim, houve a montagem da exposição e a preparação do audiovisual. Os alunos envolvidos no projeto puderam aplicar na prática os conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos ao longo de seus cursos. Este projeto cumpriu papel importante na preservação deste patrimônio cultural pertencentes não só a UFPel mas a toda a comunidade de Pelotas e da região

This report aims to present the actions performed in the Project - Paintings Collection of the Leopoldo Gotuzzo Museum of Art: Documentation, Restoration and Exhibition of the Federal University of Pelotas, an interdisciplinary proposal, exemplar of the indissociation of teaching, extension and research. The identity of the Leopoldo Gotuzzo Museum of Art, of the UFPel Arts Center, is strongly marked by the production of its patron. In this project, 14 paintings belonging to the museum’s collection, 12 of them painted by Leopoldo Gotuzzo, all donated by the patron for the formation of the museum in his letter of will, dated 1983, were selected. This project is justified by the importance of this collection to UFPel and the importance of the artist Leopoldo Gotuzzo to the city of Pelotas and the fine arts of Rio Grande do Sul. The general objective was to restore the works that were in poor condition, and for this reason many had never been exhibited in the museum. The careful restoration process included: photographic documentation, tests and intervention in the paintings. Finally, the exhibition was mounted and the audiovisual presentation recorded. Students involved in the project were able to apply in practice the knowledge acquired in their courses. This project played an important role in preservation of cultural heritage belonging not only UFPel but the whole community and the region of Pelotas.
