A ESPANHA IMAGINADA: O DISCURSO HISTÓRICO SEISCENTISTA E O PROJETO DE UMA IDENTIDADE COLETIVA ESPANHOLA

Trata-se de refletir sobre a empregabilidade do termo Espanha no discurso histórico
castelhano seiscentista. Tal reflexão deverá ser estruturada de maneira a possibilitar
empreender uma análise das implicações oriundas da utilização do termo Espanha tal
qual alegoria de unidade e elemento organizador de um projeto de identidade coletiva
auspiciado e dirigido pela Monarquia dos Habsburgos. Para tanto, deseja-se entender de
que maneira este termo foi recuperado e re-significado a partir de uma determinada
tradição, a fim de torná-lo compatível com um projeto específico de criação e
manutenção de um corpo social e político sustentado pela idéia de um Império
Espanhol. Percorrer este trajeto significa iluminar alguns pontos e questões
fundamentais do discurso histórico seiscentista, aclarando nossas concepções sobre os
significados e usos atribuídos à história naquela configuração sócio-temporal.

This is to reflect about the use of the term Spain in the seventeenth century historical
discourse. This reflection should be structured so as to enable to undertake analysis of
the implications arising from the use of the term Spain as an allegory of a collective
identity project sponsored and run by the Habsburg Monarchy. To this end, we want to
understand how this term has been restored and reframed from a particular tradition in
order to make it compatible with a particular project of creating and maintaining a
social and political body supported by the idea of the Spanish Empire. Browse this path
means throw some light on fundamental questions of the seventeenth century historical
discourse, clarifying our ideas about the meanings and uses attributed to the history in
the seventeenth century society.
