EDUCAÇÃO EM MOVIMENTO: REFORMAS NO REGULAMENTO ESCOLAR DO MUNICÍPIO DE UBERABINHA (1896-1899)

O estudo procura demonstrar a importância da legislação educacional como fonte para a pesquisa
e para a compreensão do processo de implantação da instrução pública em Minas Gerais no final
do século XIX. Utilizou-se o Regulamento Escolar de Uberabinha de 1896 e a reforma do mesmo,
ocorrida em 1899. Buscou-se promover uma análise do processo de formação das leis no interior
da Câmara Municipal, bem como as motivações e os princípios explicitados nas atas da Câmara
e no texto das leis. Para permitir análises comparativas com legislações semelhantes de outros
municípios mineiros ou do Brasil, foram incorporadas as transcrições dos dois documentos.

This study tries to point out the importance of educational legislation as source of research and
for the understanding of the process of the implementation of public education in the state of
Minas Gerais in the end of the 19th Century. It was used the School Regulation of Uberabinha
from 1896 and the reform of it, which occurred in 1899. An analysis of the process of the
formation of the laws within the council of the representatives was pursued, as well as the
motivations ands principles expressed in the protocols of the council and in the texts of the laws.
To allow comparative analysis with similar legislations of other counties in Minas Gerais and in
Brazil, transcriptions of two documents were incorporated.
