A apresentação do tema geografia e imperialismo sob a abordagem marxista e a sua trajetória no pensamento geográfico durante a segunda metade do século XX, consiste no objetivo geral deste artigo. A identificação e a análise das influências da teoria marxista sobre geógrafos franceses, norteamericanos e brasileiros, delineiam os objetivos específicos e perfazem, ao mesmo tempo, a noção de tradição.
