CONCEPÇÃO DE CIENTISTA NO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

Cientista é um personagem que, até pouco tempo, tinha uma imagem estereotipada de um
homem, que usa jaleco, faz experiências e testa-as em animais. Hoje se sabe que o Cientista é um ser
humano comum que está inserido na sociedade de maneira que ser cientista é apenas sua profissão e não
sua personalidade. Então, torna-se importante saber a concepção que alunos do Ensino Fundamental
têm do profissional cientista, para que se possa avaliar se essa idéia mudou de maneira que os mesmos
percebam a importância do trabalho dos cientistas. Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar a
concepção que alunos do Ensino Fundamental têm, atualmente, de cientista e, utilizando filmes
comerciais para problematizar tal concepção, tentar promover uma melhoria da educação cientÃfica
escolar.

Scientist is one character who, until recently, had a stereotypical image of a man, who wears
white coat, experimenting and testing them on animals. Today we know that the scientist is an ordinary
human being that is inserted in the society so that being a scientist is not only your profession and
personality. So it becomes important to know the concept that primary school students have to scientist,
to assess whether this idea has changed so that they realize the importance of the work of scientists.
This research investigates the design of scientist that elementary school students today have a scientist
and, using commercial films to question that notion, trying to promote better science education in
school.
