The quality of educational services is a growing need for current society. In Cuba the evaluation and accreditation of higher education institutions and programs correspond to quality standards that the National Accreditation Board required in the country, so the institutional self-evaluation is a challenge to improve substantive processes. The aim of this paper is to propose actions to achieve greater objectivity in the assessment process at the "José Martí Pérez" University of Sancti Spíritus and raise the quality culture of the participating agents. In the last five years, nine programs reached the highest Category of "Certified" Accreditation: four Master's degrees, a Doctorate in Pedagogical Sciences and four Undergraduate Programs. This implied a reupdate of the follow-up of the improvement plans to continue advancing in the certification of all the processes quality.
