O presente artigo examina inicialmente a noção de imaginário a partir de breves notações sobre as representações que os discursos da ciência e da religião oferecem para a ideia do fim da vida, ou à possibilidade de expandi-la continuamente. Partindo desta avaliação, buscamos explicitar como a mídia fermenta constantemente estes imaginários e assume o papel de ampliar e propagar, simbolicamente, expressões de crenças compartilhadas socialmente. Como objeto de estudo, investigamos o episódio “San Junipero”, da série “Black Mirror” da Netflix, analisada aquicomo a realização ficcional de um possível espaço heterotópico, a partir do conceito sugerido por Michel Foucault (2001) a respeito de utopias realizáveis,e que tensiona, em sua representação audiovisual, estes dois imaginários sociais sobre o post mortem.
The present article first examines the notion of imaginary, beginning withshort notations about the representations that the discourses of science and religion offer to the idea of the end of life, or to the possibility of continually expanding it. Based on this evaluation, we intendto explain how the media constantly ferments these imaginaries and assumes the role of expanding and propagating, symbolically, this expressions of socially shared beliefs. As an object of study, we investigated the "San Junipero" episode of Netflix's "Black Mirror" series, analyzed here as the fictional realization of a possible heterotopic space, based on the concept suggested by Michel Foucault (2001) regarding realizable utopias, thatstresses, in its audiovisual representation, these two social imaginaries about the post mortem.
