Este artigo trata do estudo dos fundamentos canônicos à resposta do rei de Portugal D. Dinis
(1279-1325) a uma queixa feita pelos bispos sobre a citação indevida de clérigos nos tribunais reais. Isso
é feito de forma paralela a análise sobre um livro canônico de um bispo contemporâneo do monarca, da
qual citamos o trecho em destaque. A preponderância das leis canônicas era limitada pela própria Igreja
com relação a determinadas circunstâncias. Uma delas era a força dos vÃnculos de vassalagem.
This article deals with the study of the canonic beddings to the reply of the king of Portugal
Dinis I (1279-1325) to a complaint made for the bishops on the improper citation of clergymen in the real
courts. This is made of parallel form the analysis on a canonic book of a bishop contemporary of the
monarch, of which we cite the stretch in prominence. The superiority of the canonic laws was limited for
the proper Church with regard to determined circumstances. One of them was the force of the bonds of
vassalage.
