Neste trabalho buscou analisar o padrão de especialização do comércio internacional do estado do Tocantins, identificando os setores produtivos mais dinâmicos no período de 1999 a 2016. Para isso, calcularam-se os indicadores de Vantagem Comparativa Revelada Simétrica (IVCRS), de Comércio Intraindústria (CII), de Concentração Setorial das Exportações (ICS) e Taxa de Cobertura das Importações (TC) com os dados obtidos a partir da Secretaria de Comércio Exterior - SECEX. Os resultados indicaram que a pauta exportadora do estado é essencialmente composta por setores baseados em recursos naturais, vinculados à terra, além de ser pouco diversificada. O IVCRS indica que o setor de alimentos, fumo e bebidas foi o que apresentou este tipo de padrão de comércio exterior. Quanto aos resultados do CII, observa-se que o Tocantins ainda não teve significativo impacto na integração regional por meio do aproveitamento do comércio intraindustrial. Além destes indicadores, o ICS revela que a pauta exportadora do estado é concentrada, e ainda, a TC aponta que o setor de alimentos, fumo e bebidas foi o único que teve suas importações cobertas pelas respectivas exportações.

In this paper sought to analyze the specialization pattern in international trade of Tocantins state, identifying the most dynamic productive sectors, in the period from 1999 to 2016. For this, we calculated the following indicators: Symmetric Revealed Comparative Advantage (RSCA), Intraindustry Trade (IIT), Sector Concentration of Exports (SCE) and Import Coverage Ratio (ICR), using data obtained from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade - SECEX. The results indicated that the exportation guideline of the State is basically composed by sectors based in natural resources, linked to the land; in addition, the exportation guideline is little diversified. The RSCA indicates that the food, tobacco and beverages sector was the one that presented this kind of foreign trade pattern. In relation to the results of IIT, we observe that Tocantins state has not yet had significant impact in the regional integration through the use of intra-industry trade. Besides these indicators, the SCE reveals that the exportation guideline of the State is concentrated, and also, the ICR points that the food, tobacco and beverages sector was the only one that had its importations covered by the respective exportations.
