O objetivo deste texto é discutir o papel da Lei 10.639/2003, ao longo dos 20 anos de sua aprovação, no combate ao racismo na educação e na sociedade brasileira. Nessa perspectiva, destacaremos possíveis contribuições na luta por transformação de currículos e abordagens de ensino de Geografia, tendo como foco de análise, o movimento dos cursos Pré-Vestibulares Populares como atores essenciais na luta pela democratização do acesso ao ensino superior. Faremos uma contextualização da Lei 10.639/2003, sua origem e objetivos com base nas obras de Santos (2005), Gomes (2017) entre outros. Em seguida, abordaremos o importante papel dos Cursos Pré-Vestibulares Populares (PVPs) como agentes fundamentais nas lutas pela construção de uma sociedade antirracista e pela defesa da Educação. Para isso utilizamos estudos de autores como Santos (2006) e Vasconcelos (2015). Por fim, estabeleceremos paralelos entre as contribuições da implementação da Lei 10.639 e o movimento dos Pré-Vestibulares Populares no contexto da luta por uma educação antirracista, com ênfase em diálogos com o ensino de Geografia.

The objective of this text is to discuss the role of Law 10.639/2003, over the 20 years of its approval, in the fight against racism in education and in Brazilian society. From this perspective, we will highlight possible contributions in the fight for transformation of curriculums and approaches to teaching Geography, having as the focus of analysis, the movement of Popular Pre-College Courses as essential actors in the fight for the democratization of access to higher education. We will contextualize Law 10.639/2003, its origin and objectives based on the works of Santos (2005), Gomes (2017) among others. Then, we will address the important role of Popular Pre-College Courses as fundamental agents in the struggles for the construction of an anti-racist society and for the defense of Education. For this, we used studies by authors such as Santos (2006) and Vasconcelos (2015). Finally, we will establish parallels between the contributions of the implementation of Law 10.639 and the Popular Pre-College Courses movement in the context of the struggle for an anti-racist education, with an emphasis on dialogues with the teaching of Geography.
