O presente artigo almeja apresentar os resultados de um projeto de pesquisa desenvolvido com os alunos do IFTM-Campus Paracatu que propôs investigar se o uso pedagógico do blog interfere na motivação e na autonomia do aprendiz de Língua Inglesa. No primeiro momento, são apresentadas definições sobre o termo autonomia, de acordo com diferentes teóricos. A seguir, são expostas discussões relacionadas ao papel do professor e do aluno nesse processo; na sequência, também são abordadas questões referentes à motivação intrínseca e à extrínseca do aprendiz, diante da situação de aprendizagem. Ao final, os dados coletados são disponibilizados e analisados. Com base nos resultados, percebe-se que desenvolver a autonomia do aprendiz de Língua Estrangeira é uma tarefa complexa, que exige esforço e dedicação por parte de aprendizes e professores. Nesse processo, os aprendizes precisam se responsabilizar pela própria aprendizagem e buscar caminhos que lhes auxiliem. Os dados revelaram ainda que o uso pedagógico do blog constitui uma ferramenta favorável para o ensino de Língua Inglesa e proporciona maior motivação e interesse por parte do aprendiz quanto às práticas de produção escrita em Língua Inglesa.

This paper aims to present the results of a research project developed with the students of IFTM-Campus Paracatu. It proposed to investigate if the pedagogical use of the blog interferes on motivation and autonomy of the English language learner. At first, definitions of the term autonomy are presented according to different theorists. Then, it has discussions related to the role of the teacher and the student in this process, followed by questions related to the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of the learner, faced with a learning situation. At the end, it is provided data collected and analyzed. Based on the collected data, it was recognized that developing autonomy of the foreign language learner is a complex task that requires effort and dedication on the part of apprentices and teachers. In this process, the learners must take responsibility for their own learning and seek ways to help in the process. The data also revealed that the pedagogical use of the blog constitutes a favorable tool for the teaching of English Language and provides a greater motivation and interest on the part of the learner regarding the practices of written production in English Language.
