Por meio dos conceitos de “mídia”, “memória” e “testemunho”, o presente trabalho realizou uma análise do filme Argentina, 1985 (2022), buscando compreender o que o Juicio a las Juntas significou para o povo argentino no ano de 1985. Deste modo, além de uma contextualização da ditadura militar vivida no país latino-americano, também assinalamos as características da transição democrática e como isso é evidenciado em significações por meio das imagens do longa-metragem. Este artigo analisa o filme como uma obra que busca exercitar a memória nacional argentina, relembrando os horrores da ditadura por meio dos relatos de testemunhos e reforçando o papel de personagens importantes, como os promotores Julio César Strassera e Luis Moreno Ocampo, responsáveis por criminalizar os militares que provocaram diversas violações de direitos humanos em uma das ditaduras mais brutais da América Latina. De um modo geral, esse contexto é promovido conforme o filme constrói as relações interpessoais dos protagonistas e cria um antagonismo entre a nova e a velha política que surgia na Argentina da década de 1980, tratando de reforçar a importância do julgamento para a atual identidade política e democrática do povo argentino.

Through the concepts of “media”, “memory” and “testimony”, this work carried out an analysis of the film Argentina, 1985 (2022), seeking to understand what the Juicio a las Juntas meant for the Argentine people in the year 1985. In this way, in addition to the contextualization of the military dictatorship experienced in the Latin American country, we also highlight the characteristics of the democratic transition and how this is evidenced in meanings through the images of the film. This article analizes the film as a work that tries to exercise the Argentine national memory, remembering the horrors of the dictatorship through testimonial reports and reinforcing the role of important characters, such as prosecutors Julio César Strassera and Luis Moreno Ocampo, responsible for criminalizing the military that provoked many human rights violations in one of the most brutal dictatorships in Latin America. In general, this context is developed as the film creates the family relationship of the protagonists and points out an antagonism between the new and the old politics that emerged in Argentina during the 1980s, attempting to reinforce the importance of the trial for the current political and democratic identity of the people of Argentina.
