RESUMO Como um dos objetivos do ensino superior é o compromisso de angariar esforços a atividades destinadas à promoção do letramento acadêmico através do trabalho com a escrita neste contexto, este trabalho busca refletir sobre o conceito de letramento em geral, para, assim, esmiuçar questões atreladas ao letramento acadêmico e os tipos de letramento a ele subordinados. Nesse contexto, é nosso desejo mostrar como se dá o apagamento da adjetivação acadêmica em detrimento do uso da terminologia científica no contexto de letramento de diversos cursos do campo das Ciências Naturais, tendo no gênero artigo científico o seu principal apoio para a difusão deste tipo de escrita. Para alcançar este objetivo, ao discorrermos sobre as questões de letramento, nos ancoramos em autores como Fischer (2007, 2008), Soares (1998, 2003), Dionísio (2007), Lea e Street (1998, 2006), dentre outros. Já com o intuito de refletirmos as questões do gênero artigo científico na difusão da escrita científica, temos como apoio os estudos de Bakhtin (1997) e Bakhtin/Voloshinov (2006). Para finalizar, esclarecemos que o direcionamento da escrita científica ao gênero artigo científico pode ser considerado um modo de refletir como se dá a transmissão das informações na sociedade atual. Logo, é o gênero artigo (baseado na escrita científica) o responsável por direcionar os letramentos acadêmicos na atualidade.

As one of the higher education goals is the commitment to raise efforts to activities designed to promote academic literacy by working with the writing in this context, this paper aims to reflect on the concept of literacy in general to thus scrutinize issues linked to academic literacy and the types of literacy subordinated to it. In this context, it is our wish to show how is the deletion of academic adjectives takes place instead of the use of scientific terminology in the context of literacy in various courses of the field of natural sciences, having the scientific article genre as its main support for the spread of this type of writing. To achieve this goal, in describing questions about literacy, we anchored on authors such as Fischer (2007, 2008), Soares (1998, 2003), Dionísio (2007), Lea and Street (1998, 2006), among others. In order to reflect the issues of the scientific article genre in the dissemination of scientific writing, we were supported by the studies of Bakhtin (1997) and Bakhtin/Voloshinov (2006). Finally, we clarify that the direction of the scientific writing to the scientific article genre can be seen as a way to reflect how the transmission of information happens in today’s society. Therefore it is the article genre (based on scientific writing) responsible for directing the academic literacies today.
